PRIVACY POLICY

Last Updated: March 19, 2026

At Examify, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and disclose your information, including personal information, in conjunction with your access to and use of the Examify mobile application and website.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We categorize the information we collect into three categories:

A. Information You Give to Us

  • Account Information: When you sign up for Examify (as a Teacher, Parent, or Student), we require certain information such as your first name, last name, email address, phone number, and date of birth.

  • Profile and Listing Information: * Teachers: We collect educational qualifications, certifications, years of experience, subjects of expertise, preferred tuition rates, and profile photographs.

    • Students/Parents: We collect grade level, specific academic challenges, and learning goals.

  • Identity Verification: To maintain a safe environment, we may collect identity verification information (such as government-issued ID, though these are processed via secure encrypted channels) to verify teacher credentials.

B. Information We Collect Automatically

  • Usage Information: We collect information about your interactions with the platform, such as the pages or content you view, your searches for tutors, and communications between users.

  • Log Data and Device Information: We automatically collect log information and device information when you access the app, including IP addresses, access dates and times, hardware and software information, and device event information.

C. Information from Third Parties

  • Social Media: If you link, connect, or login to your Examify account with a third-party service (e.g., Google or Facebook), the service sends us information such as your registration and profile information.

2. HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION

We use, store, and process your information to:

  • Facilitate the Marketplace: To enable Teachers to list services and Parents/Students to find and book those services.

  • Academic Progress Tracking: To allow Teachers to provide progress updates, ratings, and feedback to Parents regarding a Student’s performance.

  • Personalization: To suggest the best tutor matches based on location, subject requirements, and budget.

  • Safety and Trust: To verify identities, conduct background checks (for Teachers), and prevent fraud or spam.

  • Communication: To send service or support messages, updates, security alerts, and account notifications.

3. SHARING & DISCLOSURE

  • Between Users: To facilitate the booking, certain information is shared. For example, when a Parent requests a session, the Teacher sees the Student’s name and academic requirements. When a Parent views a Teacher’s profile, they see the Teacher’s ratings, reviews, and qualifications.

  • Public Profiles: Teacher profiles (excluding contact details until a booking is confirmed) are visible to all registered users.

  • Service Providers: We share information with third-party service providers (such as AWS for cloud hosting, Google Analytics for tracking, and payment gateways) who support our business operations.

  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information to courts, law enforcement, or governmental authorities if required by law.

4. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

We use cookies, web beacons, and mobile identifiers to help provide, protect, and improve the Examify platform. You may disable the use of cookies through your browser settings, but some parts of the platform may not function properly.

5. DATA SECURITY

We implement administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or alteration. These include firewalls, data encryption, and information access controls.

6. YOUR RIGHTS (DPDP ACT COMPLIANCE)

In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Correction/Erasure: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal data or delete your data entirely (subject to legal retention requirements).

  • Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent for data processing at any time through your account settings.

  • Right of Grievance Redressal: You have the right to register a grievance regarding the processing of your data.
